The European Youth Championship in Renju will be held this year in Turkey, in Istanbul on May 1-3.

As usual, there will be 6 groups represented: in group A, juniors born in 1992-1997 will participate, in group B boys born in 1998-2002, and in group C boys born in 2003 and later. In group D juniors of 1992-1997, born in group E, girls born 1998-2002 will play, in group F: girls born in 2003 and later. Groups A and D, due to their small size, are likely to be united. According to preliminary information, the debut regulations will be the regulations of Taraguchi.

Each member country of the RIF has the right to put 5 players in each group, and the host country has the right to put 10 players in each group.

In Renju and Gomoku in Turkey, they started playing only last year, and the European Youth Championship will be the first international tournament to be held in Turkey. However, despite the very short history of the Turkish section, such famous players as Dmitry Epifanov and Ants Soosirv have already managed to visit Istanbul.

In December last year, Turkey became a member country of the RIF.
